I was surprised by how slow the night was, I figured Memorial Day would bring out more people. The dancefloor was pretty sporadic all night, it would fill then empty, then fill. Kind of a hard crowd to read.

Even the last hour was a bit wierd. We hadn’t really done much stompy, crunchy stuff all night so I figured I would start with some and it worked very well. I kind of lost everyone with Chrome though (that surprised me) so I got desperate and went for Kathy’s and Slippy, neither of which worked all that well. So on the breakdown of Slippy I dropped into the Cure. That did it, from that point on the floor was packed. Headhunter and Pro-Test mixed like butter, it was beautiful, I will have to do that mix again. I was very happy Mindfield and Uprock’n Beats worked. I haven’t played either of those songs in quite some time.

This is so cool, it’s a picture, that’s made up of tiny pictures that you can zoom in on, each of those tiny pictures is made of tiny pictures, that’s made up of tiny pictures – forever.

Big picture, from the Purdue Horticulture department.

Hearing about two teenage sisters, one who claims she is a bi-sexual who craves sex “as many times as possible,” while her 16-year-old sister describes herself as a “slut” and a “whore” on their myspace pages isn’t really all that surprising…

Until you find out they are Marie Osmond’s kids

To give some perspective the stage is to the right of where this was taken from.

The equipment that you can see is the normal DJ booth. (Tiesto was on stage)

This is from K’s phone, it turned out pretty cool.

Here’s one I found online, you can see how high up Tiesto was

Last night Tiesto played at Myth. He is generally considered one of the top 5 DJ’s in the world and I had heard he puts on fantastic shows so I had to go. I went there with K and met up with (Look, he has a LJ now – but he doesn’t use it.), D and .

Myth is freaking huge, it’s set up like First Ave only about three times as big, and just about all of upstairs is VIP only. The first thing I noticed about the show when I got there was how packed it was, it was very hard to move in many areas of the club. There had to be well over 3500 people there.

Oh the people, let me tell you about the people. First off, outside of strippers I didn’t think women actually wore the kind of skirts and dresses that many a woman had on there. You know the ones that are so short that if you you don’t shave just right people will see your hairs peeking out from under the skirt. Many times they were also skin tight. I don’t know how the hell you are supposed to dance in those. Of course usually these women were accompanied by Stripey shirt guy

So the show wasn’t starting off with a bang. Packed to the gills with mostly suburban, white, unoriginal people. Because all these people were pretty much the same something really funny starting happening right away. As many of you know has dreads. Actually he has these dreads:

They are currently white, red with maybe some blue or another color in there. He had them tied up in a top knot last night. To say he stood out would be like saying a black guy may stand out at the Dick Chaney family reunion. Because of this, all the suburban kids thought he must be a drug dealer. With in five minutes of being in the place people started approaching him asking for drugs. He was also getting plenty of looks from the ladies; they were thinking he was a sexy, wild man who must live somewhere in Uptown or something. (Of course he is a semi wild man who does live in uptown, but that’s besides the point)

Then the lights went out and Tiesto started. All of the negative shit and vibes that had happened up until this point went right out the fucking window. The energy in the place was insane. To say he killed it would be a big understatement. He played mostly very hard trance that I had never heard before (except for a few of his songs which I knew). During breakdowns in the songs 3500+ people would start screaming. As the energy would build up out of the breakdowns you could feel the energy in the whole place build and build until the huge bass would kick in and the entire building would erupt with everyone jumping up and down and dancing like mad. It was fucking crazy.

I would have loved to have more room to dance, and yes there were many assholes there but I will take all the bad that came with the show because the good was so good. My legs are sore from all the dancing and jumping up and down.

On an unrelated note, for fun I did a Google image search for myself and found…
