Remember tonight is the big Post Christmas recovery party with Lolly Pop and DJ Coppertop. I also have the early shift.

Very good night at the club last night. It was really busy, there was no Mark and I saw a few people I haven’t seen in quite some time. Fun fun.

Last night I went to the 2005 British Television Advertising Awards at the Walker. They are outstanding. If you are looking for something to do over the next couple of days (it only runs through the 23rd) it is very good.

Christmas sucks for many of us. Dealing with family, buying gifts, listening to Fox news bitch about “Happy Holidays”, etc.

We want to give to a party for surviving the day. SO…

Monday December 26th at Hard Monday we are having a special event.

We are bring in internationally touring Industrial/EBM DJ Coppertop http://www.djcoppertop.com/

and we are having a special cameo from electro-pop diva “Lolly Pop” (formerly of Telephone! )

And of course as normal, the Aether Twins (Oxygen & Nitrogen) will be spinning throughout the night

You can’t make this kind of shit up….

A guy in France “dated” a woman over the internet for six months.

When he finally arranged a real life face to face meeting, he

Yesterday was a pretty interesting day.

I started off by going with my family to see my step brother. He is in the Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus. They performed their Christmas/Holiday show. I am usually not one who is into chorus type things, but they were very, very good. If you like that kind of thing I would highly recommend them.

Then I had to spend the rest of my afternoon and all night helping run the first of seven district finals for my day job. The company I work for is The World Poker Store. We also run the The Bar Poker League. The bar poker league is basically 60 or so bars that we run weekly Texas Hold ‘Em tournament at. These tournaments are free for the customers, and we give away prizes at them. Then twice a year we hold big district finals which will lead to our state finals next month. At the state finals we are giving away a $10,000 entry into the world series of poker in Las Vegas among other things.

So last night was the first of these district finals. I was shocked by how serious everyone was. They were all acting like this was the biggest poker tournament in the world. They were only drinking water or pop. Nobody was laughing or having fun, in other words it sucked. The dumb part about this is we invite 200 people to each district final, of that two hundred one hundred will make it to the finals! So basically after half the people are eliminated, there are no worries! (Last night only 125 showed up {it’s our smallest district}, so almost everyone who came made it.)

I wanted to slap half the people there. Hopefully that group was just weird and the rest will be more fun.

Oh and I have the early shift (I may even still have my poker gear on, depending on what time I get out of our tournament tonight)
